Generator Connection Kits
With the increasing use of generators to maintain supply to agreed installations, a wide range of workplace safety issues come to the fore. Also, utilities have identified the need to standardise connection types to improve the efficiency of making generator connections under difficult working conditions. These issues have given rise to a wide range of generator connection requirements.
In some cases simple lugged connections onto main busbars are suitable as power can be removed for short periods or the connection is made live. The Powerlock connector has become a standard connection of choice for some utilities (see image). In such cases one side of the phase connector is joined to an isolator switch to provide a load switching device.
Weber has a wide range of switchgear suitable for generator connections and can provide tailored solutions for each utility’s applications.
