New Installations
Indoor or chamber substations are an important part of any low voltage network in larger cities and in harsh environments. From a simple 500kVA form 1 constructed switchboard to a form 4a constructed switchboard for three 2mVA transformers with busties, Weber South Pacific’s design and manufacturing capabilities ensure customers’ requirements are met. With the growing attention on arcing faults arc detection systems are regularly included. Compliance to AS/NZ 61439.3 – 2016 is always provided unless specifically excluded by a customer.
Retrofit solutions for aged assets
As with padmounted substations the aging networks often present design challenges for retrofit indoor substations. On one hand we have the problem of cables that cannot be moved due to aging insulation and on the other hand the limited access to the location present many challenges. Limited access may mean designing and constructed the switchboard in small modules and these modules are then assembled in situ. Such installations require accurate site measurements that are used by Weber’s engineering team to make the required product.
